Sequencing activities are a great way to work on speech/language skills. We’ve been doing a reusable “pumpkin carving” activity with some of our clients.

To recreate at home:

Take a craft pumpkin, carve it, fill it with yellow yarn/beans/seeds (or cooked spaghetti noodles if you’re feeling like some sensory play), then put all the pieces back in and have your chid “carve” it with a plastic knife.
You can cut apart and mix up the sequencing pictures. Have your child put them in order and refer back to the steps as he/she completes the activity.

It’s a fun activity that can be done over and over again!
